Curator of Photographs and Archival Collections
New Mexico History Museum
The “EnchantOrama! New Mexico Magazine Turns 100” exhibition is currently on display at the New Mexico History Museum through February 16, 2024.
Collections Curator Hannah Abelbeck will discuss the EnchantOrama! exhibition and share a behind the scenes view into the Museum’s New Mexico Magazine Photo Collection. This lecture will include photo themes featured in the exhibition, introduce the rest of the collection not on display, dive deep into a few interesting frames, and discuss the visual legacy created by the Magazine’s editors and photographers.
Hannah Abelbeck has worked at the New Mexico History Museum for ten years and is currently the Curator of Photographs and Archival Collections in the Palace of the Governors Photo Archives and the Fray Angélico Chávez History Library. Originally from Nebraska, Hannah studied English and Art History at the University of Kansas and received a Masters in English from Pennsylvania State University. With experience in publishing, rare books, and special collections and archives, Collections Curator Abelbeck is an advocate for making the New Mexico History Museum’s archival collections more accessible to the public.
